Please suggest me good immigration attorney-( in seattle area if possible) for my H1B filing. They should be prompt in preparing my application with in 2 wks time.
My employer called Rajiv S khanna's law firm. Those para legals said they cannt gaurantee timely filing by april 1st. I think its the busiest law firm in this time of the season. cannt find fault with them any ways.
I know I am lagging behind a little bit.

My lawyer is saying you need a valid reason to apply. My wife wants to visit India when i asked he said you cannot apply AP for visiting purpose, you need a valid reason to apply and a letter or wedding invitation to apply.

Its a nice vision. But as people getting green card they would
leave here..Any organization needs money to survive...Who
will donate it? But I agree that we need an organization
to represent ourselves.
Certain things we could address after GC Retrogression is
undercontrol ( if ever happens)
1. Address FBI name check issue..
2. Bring back VISA revalidation inside USA so that we
dont have to make a trip to US embassy..
3. Work for getting Social Security money back if we returns to home country.
....etc etc........
As time pass by old issues may be solved, but new issues will
surface.....
So I'll support an organization for sure!

I want to address this to everyone. Any organization needs a clear and precise Vision statement. Majority of the senior member complain that the people with green card and citizenship do not support immigration voice; then the question becomes what is our vision. If we confine ourselves to the benefit that we all should get green card, then what is the need for someone who has already got a green card to visit this web site. Humans are need based animals, whether you like it or not tomorrow if I get my Green Card (A big IF) it is very much likely that my visit to this website will be minimized. My priorities will be different. So core group should get a better vision statement which might address all immigrants.
The reason I came to immigration voice is slightly different, because I am still not convinced enough to accept that core group could do something which will make our law makers� act different. I support immigration voice on a bigger picture, it unites all immigrants together, and the website provides me support to all my immigration need. For example, I can search the website and find information regarding visa stamping, H1 quota and what my fellow countrymen think about it. So my sincere advice to the core group is to create a vision statement which is much bigger than the green card issue and which will make sure all immigrant no matter with green card or not will visit our website. Make the vision statement visible in the website. You have much better exposure through this. I have to agree, I am writing this out of frustration :D , but to be honest, do not treat this website for green card retrogression alone, treat it as something bigger, which will address all immigrant needs.

Ajay, did you receive 3 years of H1 extension? I am in my 5th year of initial H1B. wondering if I will receive 3 years extension when I file for H1B transfer with an approved 140. I am changing jobs using AC21 to join a new employer.
Let me know your exp. Did you also get new I-94 attached with H1B ext approval notice?
You will get 3 years H1B extension since ur 140 is already approved.
I94 will come with the I797A approval.

I did it successfully in Toronto.
While entering Canada I showed them my Canadian Immigration papers and told them I will bring my stuff from US in second round. I did not tell Canadian Immigration officer that I came for US visa stamp.
However You can tell at US consulate that you landed in Canada as Canadian Immigrant and while coming back in US at the border. They won't mind.

Join this effort and make a difference. Joining at the last moment when legislative debate is taking place may be too late a time to join and bring more members.
Email me at jay@Immigrationvoice.org and you can start helping today. All we need is 45 minutes of your time per day for a few days until we reach a 10,000 volunteer mark.
Help us make this chain-recruitment work. We cannot have the same few 20 people trying to bring new people on board coz those 20-25 members dont have unlimited friends they know who CAN be involved in this.

Excellent. I am new in this cage..but I am proud to be here. I will definetly donate generously for 4 core for future lobbying. Also I would think..we need 2 avoid anti-immigration media such as CNN etc. I saw WSJ, Business Week, CNBC(Brian William news at 6.30), CNBC Maria, Washington post, New york time and some other local news paper helping us with covergae on this issue. We shouldn't be helping Lou dobb's kind of guys to boost his ratings. I decided to stay away from that chap!! and CNN. I know many of my friends regulary watch CNN and I advised everyone to switch to other channel..what u guys think. Once again congts all.. sleep well and enjoy..

I relocated 2 years ago after spending more than a decade in the US. My choice was my hometown (not a Metro) due to a number of reasons - one of them was availability of jobs in my area of interest/expertise (which is business/management).
From a quality of life (decent personal life beyond work, imho) perspective, tier B cities make sense. However, real estate prices are soaring everywhere. So, it is advisable to buy while you are still earning in Dollars - it worked out well in my case since I knew where I was going to settle.
As far as education is concerned, you also have schools with IB curriculum in addition to CBSE, ICSE and State boards - even in tier B cities. Pre-K is costly but again not out of reach for most. If kids are still young, they will be able to adjust much faster. IB is perceived to be less rigorous than other boards - but I believe kids should be able to cope up with whatever board you choose.
Overall, reality on the ground here much better than what we imagine sitting there.

Folks, there is thought that keeps coming to mind about where to go back in India when we finally plan to...
When we came in 2002 we did think that we will go back in a couple of years at the most....but it's been longer...we definately love it hear but think that should settle down in India rather for multiple reasons (mostly personal reasons)
I am from a small town in India and it is definately not a IT hub, my wife is from Mumbai and we think it is now too crowded (as always -:) or say to hectiv a life in Mumbai....
so then which is the best place to go ...Pune ? I hear that even that is very crowded and not to mention the sky rocketing real estate....
We have 2 kids...one 6 years and the younger one ...one year....
How is schooling back home ? I hear that the studies for the school there are much more difficult compared to here ? I mean can kids going from here cope up there in schools ?
I also hear that there are foreign schools....for which I might have to continue working here to pay the fees -;)
