Hi Gurus,
I am in company A on H1B and doing H1B transfer to Company B.
Company B is saying that I can join the same day on which the H1B transfer packet is received by USCIS.
if the docs are delivered on SEP 01 2009 can I join on the same day, or I should join from SEP 02 2009
Get the receipt notice and join them.

my lawyers have indicated that i would need a 551 stamp in the passport if the card doesn't arrive on time, using AP etc is not an option.
anyone been through this situation and has more details?

Im using Asp.net.
The button text consists of data I have imported from an SQL database through a web client. I assume I should then replace the html character codes in the SQL database with these unicode identifiers? Would that still work with ASP.NET-C#?

Hi,
My employer had given me an approved labour and filed for my I140 in May for which I have received the receipt notice. I subscribed myself for email alerts in USCIS website with my I140 receipt notice number. Few days before I received an email from USCIS that a request for withdrawal of my I140 was accepted and I will have to file a new application if I want to apply again. I questioned my employer regarding the same but they said they didnt withdraw my I140 application and that it must be a screw up from USCIS side.
Question 1: Is it possible that it can be a mistake from USCIS side?
I have been approached by a different employer who is ready to file my GC.
Question 2: If my existing employer has really not withdrawn my I140 application, can there be problems for me if I change my employer and my new employer files my GC..(since there can be two I140s from two different employers) ?

Can somebody please throw some light on this issue.
I have an approved H1extn till 2013 but I had moved to the new location and new project since then but I don't have a new LCA. And now when I'm planing to go to india and appear for visa stamping I don't have the new LCA for my current location.
When I asked my lawyer, she said that I need to apply for fresh H1 extn. This doesn't make sense to me, Can I only get new LCA for my new project location ?
Do I need to get my H1B amended with this change ?
Please help me on this ...

If you want immediate responses then your questions should be either on EAD/AP/485 or something to do with GC. For other queries members here take low priority..this is my observation..!!! But keep sharing knowledge ...!!!

I'm on my OPT, basically student F1 visa.
The thing is the company where I work is ready to sponsor me. They only don't know which occupation to write for me in order to be eligible for H1B.
I'm working over there on administrative position and doing various accounting things.

I have a query related to entitlement of salary and back wages. I was laid off by a big MNC software company based in Texas in Oct 2009 . Just in span of 1 week , i was offered a position by desi consulting company starting November 1 . They started my H1 transfer process stating starting date as November 1 on LCA petition . I was told to wait until H1 receipt comes and client gives green signal to start the project.
Even after getting the receipt on 30th November , i was never sent on project neither paid .
I waited till 31st December and left the country on 1st Jan 2010.
What are my rights ? Am i entitled to get the back wages as stated on LCA petition because i was never paid by employer till date ?
What is the duration period i could get the salary ?
Please let me know the process to get my pending salary if i am entitled to get any

Answer: At least three months before your H1 expires.
2) I was a July filer and my wife is already using EAD (business). Does it make sense to renew her H-4 as well
Answer: No.. She is already doing business, which she can not if she goes back on H4. If she is making money then no point going for H4.

Answer: As the previous member said, both are separate issue, so don't worry and just apply for her AP.
My two cent: You should apply for your EAD and AP as well...

The other day had a friend at my place and I felt like throwing him out of my house. These guys are crying by their asses days and night. Believe me he is the guys whose wife drives him to work because his DL expired and PA DOT is not issuing him License because he has less than 1 year visa. But he was talking this government, that government..... I asked him to keep quiet and watch, if we are successful you'll get a free ride, if not then keep crying through your ass, you're doing it anyway!!!!

My feeling was that there are No NEW jobs here in USA especially for immigrants. I felt jobs are slowly being offshored and new job creation was not catching upto that. This matches with unemployment numbers 10%+... Also I feel there are enough people looking for PROJECT while on H1B..
Its good to see this is changing with new H1b hiring happening!!

My application was received on July 3 at NSC. Till now, I haven't received any notices. I got the RNs by calling USCIS.
Now, I placed an expedite order on my EAD on Friday. They sent me a mail saying my app was received on Oct 10 and not July 3 (yeah right! if it was oct 10, why would you even accept it?). So I faxed them the fedex delivery signature confirmation. Today I see a LUD on my EAD app but nothing else has changed.
Can anyone shed some light on what might possibly going on here? I can probably wait for some more time to find out for sure but I am curious. Guys with approved EAD - did you see a LUD on your app before it was approved?
